In its sixth year of inception, CULytics Solutions Showcase - The Best of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technologies took place on Dec 2nd, 2021, wholly focused on CEOs, and other C-Level credit union leaders along with SVPs, VPs, Directors, and Analysts, to enable them to take advantage of AI and ML at their respective credit unions. Sponsored by Neuton AI and Pyramid Analytics, CULytics brought together an impressive slate of speakers from progressive credit unions with notable experts in the field of AI & ML technologies. Over 130+ attendees from 75+ Credit Unions took a deep dive or gained insights into cutting-edge best practices, the latest trends, member origination as well as setting up the foundation.

Showcase Overview
The event commenced with a welcome address by CULytics's founder and president, Naveen Jain. Speaking at the event, Naveen emphasized that the mission of CULytics is to help credit union leaders be successful in their digital initiatives. He explained to the attendees that CULytics's Guide can help them clear the air on most of their frequent questions about where to begin their journey and how to ascertain that the desired result needed from data analytics investments is fulfilled.

The exciting event started with a keynote session by Raj Prasad, Sr. AVP, Data Science and Analytics, Redstone Federal Credit Union, where he spoke on Tech, Governance, and Talent Starting a Prescriptive Analytics Practice. This keynote talked about how prescriptive analytics is helpful for financial services analytics due to its ability to harness long-term economic trends and customer data, including big data. Raj dived deep into the details of emerging trends and technologies, which featured Incorta Dashboard, Jupyter Notebook, DataRobot, to name a few.
The session was followed by a fireside chat titled Building the First Data Analytics Model - Lessons Learnt between Sophia Duan, Credit Risk and Model Risk Management, Alliant Credit Union, Ian Olson, Vice President Advanced Analytics, Vystar Credit Union, and Naveen Jain, Founder and President, CULytics. They discussed at length how credit unions leverage their data for analytics to serve their member base better and remain competitive. The talk also touched upon a brief history and critical trends in deep learning for how credit unions can mark a successful turnaround in the digital era with possibilities around artificial intelligence, data analysis, and digitalization.
Other prominent speakers included Bhavesh Shah, VP Data Management Strategy, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, who gave an insightful discussion on Credit Card Application Approval with Machine Learning. The keynote plan included how the acquisition of credit cards be increased among members that currently do not possess a credit card. He also shed light on some breakthrough models that led to massive progress in the field.
The next session started with a talk on Case Study: Member Risk Model -The Foundation for Personalization by Vasu Srinivasan, Data Programming Manager, Redwood Credit Union, and Blair Newman, Chief Technology Officer, Neuton AI. They exhibited the collaborative case of AI/ML use in identifying member risk rating and enhancing the member experience.
In a subsequent talk, Pedro Tan, AVP, Data Analytics, Community Choice Credit Union and Chris Banks, Director of Product Marketing, Pyramid Analytics, presented a Case Study: Maximizing Memberships through Data-Driven Analytics. They demonstrated how they established a centralised Data Analytics Team and chose an analytics platform that met the needs of all stakeholders.
The following session began with Blair Newman, Chief Technology Officer, Neuton AI where he presented the Solutions Overview: Zero code SAAS AutoML Solution that business users can use without code or any technical expertise. Neuton, he continued, allows financial institutions to analyze many factors in forecasting and, as a result, to get as close as possible to meeting goals and realizing business expectations.
Kevin Kratzer, Solutions Engineer, Pyramid Analytics, kicked up the event's final session by presenting the Solutions Overview: Pyramid Decision Intelligence Platform. This platform, he continued, delivers a frictionless decision-making environment that tames the chaos created by data silos and proliferation of self-service analytics tools.
Throughout the event, the moderators Andrew Baldwin, BI Analyst, Royal Credit Union, and James Romer, VP of Data and Analytics, America First Credit Union, interacted with the presenters, addressing questions and doubts from the attendees about the presentation. This helped the attendees not only connect better with the speakers but also gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the sessions.
