Tableau = viz tool with minimal learning curve, great visualization compared to many other tools, rapid data analysis and ability to scale on numerous device types (mobile, desktop, etc). I believe if learning curve is minimal and less technical, adoption rates with end-users are high, especially in a self-service approach and Tableau just does that. There are plenty of knowledgebase resources online and is touted as one of most active user communities. As with any tools, there are few limitations for Tableau to keep in mind - pricing, some IT experience necessary for infra support in larger environments, debugging and better support for custom-SQL unless you have an ETL tool to supplement.

At FTFCU, we have had tremendous success with adoption of Tableau and have had great support on various initiatives to empower analyst community and overall, I would highly recommend any organization getting started on their analytics journey or for any rapid data insights programs.

      Hemanth,

We are very honored to have FTFCU as a very valued Tableau customer.  We've found many successes with credit unions and we use the partnership we have with you as an example of how Tableau can make an impact.  Thank you for your review of Tableau.

Partners Federal Credit Union decided to use Tableau as a way to compliment the agile approach to turning around data insights. With very little overhead and a robust toolset to crest amazing adhoc insights and robust dashboards, Tableau was the best choice to drive analytics results at Partners.
Additionally, Tableau boasts one of the best user communities we had ever experienced. Quite frankly, any request, challenger or idea can be vetted through the community and you will always find eager peers ready to tackle your query.
Tableau is light-weight from a software standpoint and heavy-duty from a results standpoint. It's my go-to data insights solution at this point.

      Ben,

We couldn't agree more about the strong user community.  They are one of the reasons that Tableau is the preferred data and analytics visualization platform.  We certainly enjoy partnering with our credit union customers and appreciate your comments about just how easy it is to empower enterprises to truly understand their business.

      Thanks,

First Tech selected Tableau as our Data Visualization technology of choice after performing thorough due diligence of this fast evolving space and comparing multiple products in this space.

Our journey with Tableau has been remarkable. About 70% of First Tech's employee base using Tableau dashboard on day-to-day basis to drive their business. We got a server license, which is integrated with our LDAP server. This ensures that all First Tech business users are able to use Tableau and are not limited by license in any way.

As is typical, getting technology in is easy part, the difficult part is making it work and driving adoption. We created First Tech's internal power users community to drive adoption. Initially this community used to meet every week, where we used to share Tableau best practices and use-cases along with tips and tricks for analysts. This community has been instrumental in helping us get to where we are today.

In addition, Tableau provides a lot of free training videos, webinars and other support to help the new analysts get started. Overall, we are happy with the choice that we have made.
