The 2022 CULytics Day, held virtually on August 22nd, could not have been any better, thanks to our phenomenal speakers, sponsors, and attendees for making this a grand success. The conference attracted over 320 attendees from more than 165 credit unions.

The event began with a welcoming message by the founder and president of CULytics, Naveen Jain. While addressing the attendees, Naveen reaffirmed that CULytics is all about helping credit unions be successful with their data analytics initiatives. He shared that CULytics has established a realistic, business-proven approach for analyzing and advancing a credit union's data and analytics maturity based on decades of applied experience enhanced via interactions with more than five hundred credit unions.
Moreover, he stated that many credit unions are turning to CULytics consulting as an efficient way to drive successful outcomes and accelerate their pursuit of data and digital transformation. In addition, Naveen spoke about what lay in store for all the attendees.
Thomas Novak, VP/Chief Digital Officer of Visions Federal Credit Union and a well-known thought leader, was the CULytics Day's keynote speaker. His presentation "To Build or Not to Build (Buy)" drew the audience's attention as many credit unions are grappling with this challenge.
Want to know how analytics influences financial lending? If so, you shouldn't miss out on hearing from Tavish Taylor, Director of Data Analytics and Financial Reporting at Credit Union 1 – Alaska, at this event.
Want to comprehend two things? "Why are members leaving?" and "Is there anything we can do to prevent it beforehand?" The following discussion was given by Jen Larson, PSECU's Director of Marketing Analytics and Research, and was titled "Case Study: Leveraging Member Data to Prevent Closures." She advises kicking off a data modeling project, launching associated marketing initiatives, and gauging their efficacy.
Later, in the next session, Kalyana Sundaram, EVP, and CIO, Partners Federal Credit Union, shared insights on Contactless Verification and Validation for Members at Teller Stations using secure, dynamic, and time-bound QR codes generated using FI's Mobile Banking App.
The next session was a fireside conversation titled "Changing Lending Landscape" features Sumeet Bhalla (Senior VP, Consumer Banking, PenFed Credit Union), Bill Snider (Vice President, Digital Strategy and Marketing, Clearview Federal Credit Union), and Naveen Jain (Founder & President, CULytics). They spent considerable time discussing the potential impact on lending of economic shifts, inflation, and recession fears and what credit unions can do to better compete in the marketplace.
Nishant Upadhyay, Vice President, Data and Analytics, UW Credit Union, kicked off the event's final session by presenting on "Cloud Data Platform-Things To Watch Out For." He shares insights on dos and don'ts when moving data management infrastructure to the cloud.
Thanks to the moderators Amie Hale, Valley Strong Credit Union; Bill Snider, Clearview Federal Credit Union; Kevin Yebuah, Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union; Stephanie Hulsey, Arsenal Credit Union; who interacted with the presenters, addressing questions and doubts from the attendees about the presentation. This helped the attendees connect better with the speakers and gain more profound knowledge and understanding of the topic.
